Jacob Recast

The character of Jacob has been recast, after rumours that David Tom was leaving. Tom has played the recurring role since season one, but was said to be unhappy with a possible contract as it would restrict his work elsewhere.

Emmy winner Jacob Young had been considered for the role, but former All My Children star Jesse McCarthy ended up getting the role. McCarthy is said to have signed a deal which will see Jacob stay on the show until the middle season three.

Bill Hughes (The Old Man) and Kylie Minouge (Heather Manning) will not be appearing in season three.

Special Guest Stars

Several people are set to appear in the four special episodes, which will form a mini-series. So far Beth Chamberlain and Christie Hayes have appeared.

They will be appearing again in the final special episode, as will Shannon Pryce as Clare and Timothy Gibbs as Neville and Sarah Buxton as a police officer. The episodes still have no air date set, but it is hoped that they will be posted after the second season finale.

Also in season three several famous guest stars will be appearing.
