Hey,

So yeah, I'm gonna continue my awesome weekend. Haha...funny, isn't it? But anyway...we got up around 10 and both Aye and I were stiff a bit. We worked hard the night before! We should get medals!! *wink* But we were looking forward to the day's events. We weren't sure where it would go though - whether it would top last year's and who would show up. But we were excited nonetheless. We went downstairs into the kitchen and there were already people getting ready. WaterFest was supposed to start at 1 but time flew by pretty quickly. The Thai Club was decorating the patio and they brought all their food. The Burmese Interact Club (BIC) members and officers live in IRC and since it's IRC sponsored event, we were using the kitchen there. People started arriving around 1 and we asked them to go into the Classroom, which is just a room with a big projector and where people watch movies and stuff. My dad and the father of another member gave a presentation about Burmese Water Festival and an American who has lived in Thailand for 4 years and who studies Thai traditional medicine talked for the Thai Club.
Around 1:30, we all rushed out to the patio. We were starving!!! We ate a bit and even before I was finished, David came to ask me to pair up for the obstacle course. No one hasn't played with the water yet so everyone was dry. And for the obstacle course, I told David I wasn't gonna eat anything off of the ground cuz I saw three plates with food on the ground. So he said that's fine. So I went to the other end and waited with a bucket. He was supposed to find a gum from a plate full of flour and blow a bubble then eat this green food from the next plate and then drink this pink drink and try to get 3 waterballoons - at least one intact - into the bucket that I had. As soon as he heard that he has to blow a bubble, he came running to me, asking me to switch. He said he can't blow bubbles. I refused. I wasn't gonna eat anything off of the ground. That's disgusting! And guess what he did. He carried me and halfway there, I jumped down. Everyone was laughing at us cuz we were in the middle of the lawn and everyone else who weren't participating were on the patio looking at us. But finally, he did it and he wasn't that bad. We got 2nd place! But I saw this girl who was trying to get a bug out of her plate while she was trying to eat the food. Ugh!!!
As soon as the obstacle course was over, I poured the water I had in the bucket all over David. LOL. That was good! And by that time, the water in the pools were deep enough. I ran and got another bucket of water and chased David. Aye has joined me by that time and people were splashing each other. The patio was a safe zone though so we couldn't get anyone who was on the patio. And of course, that's where David ran. COWARD! :P Well, he and Wynn were all lovey-dovey and he didn't play much with us that much. But when he came down onto the lawn, I chased him all around but that wasn't really working. One time, I got real close to him. We were talking and I had a bucket full of water and I had it lowered down. I got right next to him and kept on talking. He turned the other way around and I poured it all over him. And since he was completely dry by that time, I had victory!!! Oh yeah! Haha. A lot of people that were on the lawn were completely wet and then Aye and I spotted Ben standing near a tree, watching the action. But he was completely dry. We walked up to him and we thought he would run but he didn't. I was warning him as I kept walking closer but he still stood there. So of course, I had to pour all the water on him! Haha. After a while, everyone was drenched but we still kept chasing people and pouring water. And then a war started between me and a guy named TJ. I don't remember who started it but when one was looking away, the other would dump all the water over that person. It wasn't fair because he was at least 8 or 9 inches taller than me. And when I said that he was taller than me, he said, "No, I'm not." And I was like "O....k....??" LOL. But it wasn't that bad. The pool was our main source of water supply so we were always right there, looking at each other and where the other person would go. Aye joined me too so it was the three of us but since it was his and my war, it was more intense for us. And Aye had to leave for a while to go inside. I'll put up pix when I can. Looking at the pix, you'll get a better idea of what it was like. It was so much fun!
There weren't any big waterguns this year, unlike last year. So it was more fun this way. Everyone had water buckets so you had to get close and sneak up from behind. That's what TJ did to me a few times! GRRR! He would pour all the water over my head. But I took my revenge! When he bent down to get the water, I would dump the water over his head. And luckily it was 80s yesterday. Cuz we were out there playing with the water for about 3 hrs and I was freezing around 3pm!!! I was shivering for a while. I think that was because I was resting a bit and eating while there was a water-balloon throwing contest. But it was funny how it was just Aye, TJ, another guy and a girl and I playing till the end. Aye and I get pretty crazy, huh? We played the whole time last year too and only the guys were left. All the girls couldn't take it!! *wink* Haha. We both miss Burma during Water Festival week. Those were fun times. The whole city would be participating. We would go around the city in cars and get completely soaked. There would be so many people with water hoses and water balloons. The whole car would be flooded. Sigh...I miss that! But yesterday was quite fun too. So much water was used that the lawn got pretty muddy on some parts. And of course, clumsy me, I had to fall down 4 times in the mud! LOL. It's probably why I'm so sore right now. And plus, all the buckets full of water that I had to lift! It was funny though. I was fine this morning and then as the day progresses, another part of me starts to hurt. Haha.
After the waterfight, we all took showers and soon, it was time for the BBQ Cookout. We went downstairs and there were already tons of people there. The lawn must have dried too cuz there were people sitting on the grass. That was crazy! It must have been really hot yesterday. Luckily we were cooled down by the water. The guys were wrestling on the grass when I had to leave. And then I realized that I won't be seeing some people anymore since they're graduating this year and I don't think I'll be going back to UVA for this year. So I had to say goodbye to Tian and take pix. She's going back to Ohio so we might see each other again since we have some family friends there. But it won't be the same anymore. *sniff sniff* She's so much fun too! I'll miss her.
So yeah, despite the fact that I didn't want to come home and go to school today, I still had to come back. *pout* That means, I won't be seeing Wynn and Aye for another month since they have exams and they're going to stay for Wynn's graduation. And I'll be going to Lynn's graduation that weekend. I'm gonna miss them. Well, let me end this entry here. I've written so much today. I hope you enjoy reading it. I'll talk to you soon, I hope. Bye now! ^_^
