Wow, can you believe it?? I'm already at home now. And I'm getting bored already! I miss Hensley and I miss everyone. Emily went back to CT early Wednesday morning. It's only been like 5 days and it already seems like forever! And we've been on the phone too!!! Crazy! Eric left that night for PA. And afterwards, it got so quiet without them. I miss them so much! :( *sniff sniff* Wow, how am I gonna last a whole month. That's what Emily and I were talking about last night. We both miss each other. We're psychos! :D Everyone at school lives so far away though. Emily is about 7 or 8 hours away, Eric is about 4 or 5 hours away, Anna is from TN so that's about 10 hours, Diana is from CA, Grant is from MN, Endrit is from NY, Nick is from GA, Aliza is from CT and Ji is from CT as well. Everyone's from out of state. *pout* I'll miss them all. But anyway, let me update a little...
So that Bio exam was crazy! Well, the studying was crazy, the exam was pretty good. I studied so much with Aliza and we both were delirious afterwards. The exam was a lot easier than the first one and we both were very prepared for it. We were so happy when we were done. We had to go celebrate at Coggin's. Haha. But wow, everything we did, it was in some way connected to Bio. I couldn't sleep for 2 nights leading up to the exam because whenever I closed my eyes, I started listing all the hormones produced by different organs and glands; or I was listing all the subphyla and classes under the Chordata Phylum and all the characteristics of each. It was definitely crazy. I couldn't think of anything else apart from Bio. But that night after the exam (12/8) Anna, Eric and I went shopping at Walmart in Alexandria!! Haha...yup! Of course, we were stupid enough to go there at 5:20pm on a weeknight. We didn't get there till 6:40pm! So we did our shopping for Hensley Christmas Party and finals' survival kits! Anna and I are on the Hall Council so we decided to do those for the whole dorm. Eric was our transportation. We love you, Eric! *wink* Our whole cart was full but it was so much fun! Then, we were starving so we went to UNO's for dinner and tried to head home. But right after we crossed the Key Bridge, instead of taking a left, we took a right. We were all talking and didn't realize it. So we got to the Capitol and then we thought we could go back. But there were so many one-way signs and road-blocks, we got so lost! We even got to the SE!!! We were on the borderline of SW and SE but we quickly turned back. It was so crazy!!! But at the same time it was an adventure and we were screaming and laughing. But after getting us lost for about 5 times, Eric finally listened to my directions (I had the map!) and we got back to Hensley safely after an hour and a half of driving around. Sigh...guys...why do they never listen or ask for directions?
That Friday, the 10th, was awesome. I had a work holiday party/meeting and so I got all that good stuff - BBQ chicken, stuffing, cranberry sauce, turkey, etc. I was full after a plate. This was at 3:30pm and I knew our Christmas party was at 7ish. So after it ended, I came back to Hensley to find that Grant had moved into Emily's room and Emily had moved into Diana's room. (Grant's roommate is impossible and Grant was gonna move into another dorm. But to prevent that, Emily gave him her single room while she moved into Diana's room. Diana's roommate had moved out.) And it was just weird to see Grant in Emily's room. We got ready for the party. We decorated the lounge with balloons and lights. We also had chocolate chip cookies, brownies, hot chocolate, hot cider, egg nog, etc. It was awesome. A lot of people showed up and we had Christmas songs playing and we also watched Home Alone 2. And some of us stayed and played Outburst and then we dispersed a little. Some played pool while others played Trivia Pursuit. And then we came back and talked till around 4:30am. It was great. But then the next morning around 11, my mom called to ask me to come home. My sis, Wynn, had come back from CA a few days earlier. They wanted me home. (I wanted her to come visit me since she hasn't seen my dorm yet.) So groggily, I prepared to head home. It was really nice to see Wynn again. She was so excited. So I spent the day at home and then that night, I went to chill with Ali, Julia, and Arash for a while. Ali's mom had some Latkes for us. They were very good! But I couldn't eat dinner there cuz I was eating dinner at home. So then I went back to GW. Emily wanted to watch "Love Actually" AGAIN so we ended up watching that. And then Endrit and Eric came to chill. Haha...they were screeching like monkeys!!!! And jumping with their arms flinging around. It was hilarious. And they weren't even drunk or anything! That's the scary part. And the funny thing was that their loud noise got the third floor party to get busted. Or so we think. LOL. That's so bad!!
The next day was Eric's birthday. We went out to dinner in Georgetown and it was so much fun. Of course, Endrit was going crazy and since we had our cameras, it was amazing footage! :P Eric definitely got his birthday surprises and presents! *wink* Haha. Esp. from Endrit! Dinner was delicious but we were running late to our hall meeting at 8. Someone said it'd only take 15 minutes to walk back to our campus using the shortcut. So instead of walking back to Foggy Bottom campus and taking the shuttle back to our place, we walked. All the girls were in heels and some of us were wearing skirts and going up and down the hills in the freezing weather was soooo not good. It took us about 50 minutes to get back cuz we took the wrong road. We had called our CF (same as RA) about our situation and he said he was running late too and the meeting was pushed back. We got there a couple of minutes late and it turns out that he just handed out these papers and left. GRRR! He couldn't put it under the doors?? It's so stupid. He's such a slacker. Plus he wants to be friends with his residents so he doesn't do his job at all. Anyway...yeah, that night was memorable! And after 4 days of having fun (I did write a paper!), I had to get back to studying. But our studying times weren't that bad cuz we'd take breaks and have fun and then get back to studying. A bunch of us did Secret Santa and oh, we also got some free professional massages!!! Omg, I almost fell asleep. It was only for 10 minutes but it was sooo relaxing. It was shiatsu and when my masseuse massaged my head and my hands, I thought it was the best thing ever. So good! I got like a 15-minute massage too from this Panasonic Pro Massage chair at Brookstone a few days ago. Haha...the guys that worked there kept smiling. One of the guys told us that he was in that chair the whole summer! And ya know, studying is fun when you order pizza at 11pm and you talk while you study. That's what Ji and I did while we studied for Psychology. That was fun. I ate half the pizza and coke after drinking tea and ate crackers an hour before and then had Chinese for dinner! It's amazing how much I can eat and especially, my stomach goes crazy when I study!!
Thursday night was fun. Ali, Arash and Yoomi came to visit. I didn't know what to do with myself after getting back from work cuz I had nothing to do. I had finished packing and my computer didn't work so I couldn't even switch it on. And all my hallmates had gone home, taking finals or studying. And I was soooo bored. So after they got there, we went to Georgetown for dinner and then went to the Waterfront to take pix and goof around. It was definitely freezing outside and yet, we spent hours out in the cold. We are definitely nuts!! And I'm glad we didn't go clubbing that night cuz Diana went to LuLu's, Dream and another club and they were all deserted. After getting back to Mount Vernon, I went to chill with Anna at her work. She just checks for ID at one of the dorms on our campus. Endrit was there, including Arif and Zack - Anna's friends. And we talked and goofed around till about 2. By the time, I was totally gone. I couldn't open my eyes. So I said my goodbye to Anna (She was leaving early the next morning.) and headed back to my room. The next morning, I had breakfast with Ji, went to work, and then my dad picked me up and came back home. Wynn wanted to go shopping so then even though I was extremely tired, I went to Tyson's with her and spent the day "Christmas shopping." I ended up buying 2 packets of Harry&David truffles for myself! LOL. I haven't bought any presents yet and Christmas is in 5 days!!! Ahh! I can't wait for everyone to get back. And I can't wait to see everybody at the IB reception on Wednesday. That should be fun. I emailed Mrs. Goodwin and she was telling me about how the seniors are all preparing for the English oral commentaries!! Haha...I remember that! I'm so glad I'm not going through all that IB crap now. Last year this time was horrible!!!! Extended essays, CAS hours, oral commentaries, History logs, Paper 1s and Paper 2s, college applications...the list goes on. Winter break this year for FCPS schools is a week this year or so I heard. I feel sorry for all the seniors this year. Hang in there, guys!! I can't wait for the IB reception. But many of the teachers that I like are already gone. I wish Mrs. Thomas was still there. Mr. Mitchell moved to WA and Mrs. Johnson is at another school. :( Anyway, this entry has been really long. I'm gonna stop here. Hoping to see you this break; and all you Hensleyians, keep in contact!! I miss you already! *sniff sniff*
