Hi guys,

It has been over a month!!! I can't believe it. I thought a month of break would be long but it was so short. 2nd week of 2nd semester has already started. And this semester is already going crazy. I have so much to read and write. I've been soooo busy, especially this week. So many things have happened. It sure was a very fun break. I wish we had another month off. Well, I should just quit school if I want all that free time, right? Haha.
The IB reception went quite ok. Everybody still looks the same. Nothing much has changed. The school had some changes though. The school looks a lot better now. I think it was our class that was bringing it down. Now that we're all gone, it's getting better. Haha. All my fave teachers were all gone. So there was only Mrs. Goodwin that I wanted to see. It was funny. She asked us to look at the guys now cuz in 10 years they'd be bald and fat! She said she just went to her 10-year high school reunion and all the jocks from her class are all bald and fat. Eeek! LOL. Just 10 years? That's kinda scary. Apart from that, nothing interesting happened. We got our diplomas and we just chilled and talked. But this would be the last time for our class to meet before our 10-year reunion.
It was really nice to have everyone back for the holidays. Wynn and David came back for a month from Cali and Lynn and Godfrey came back for about 5 days from Boston. The whole house was crazy and noisy but that was so much fun. I'm so family oriented. I love to just hang out with my family. Of course, all of us love food so we would all get into the kitchen and cook. Even the guys helped! They helped eat it too. LOL. We actually postponed Christmas till the 29th. Lynn and Ko Wai only got back that day. So we had a big family dinner and opened our presents afterwards. That was fun! Our family is now 8 people. I didn't believe it'd be like this but it's great. Lynn's wedding is in June so we also planned for the wedding and went bridesmaid dress shopping. We finally found a dress that everyone liked and found the sizes that everybody needs. It's gold and it's a 2-piece. The skirt flows out and the top is a tube top type with beads embroidered but it also has small straps that go up like a halter and tie at the neck. Lynn loves it so we love it too. It's something I wouldn't normally pick out but it's elegant and pretty.
Of course, break was also to hang out with friends. But a lot of people went on vacations and it was hard to meet up with everyone. Julia was in Spain the whole break, Meriem was in Rome, Sylvie was at the beach and Loren...I don't recall where she went but she was gone the whole break too. Carolina was dog-sitting the whole month too in Alexandria. But we did what we could. Ali and I were pretty much free except when Lynn and Ko Wai were here. A couple of the fun moments were clubbing at Dream and cosmic bowling. Carolina, Ali, Sylvie, her friend Katie and I went into DC for a little fun. Of course, we got lost in the SE side and that was scary! But that was just for a moment. Thanks to Sylvie's navigation, we got there but it was so crowded. I've always been wanting to go to this club but never had a chance cuz they only let 18 and over in on Thursday nights. And I had morning classes on Fridays last semester. So anyway, this place is 4 stories high and each floor has different djs. The top floor is for the VIP and off-limits. They were playing the top 40s on the first floor but it doesn't have much space for dancing cuz there's a huge bar in the middle. The 2nd floor was hip-hop and it was PACKED! We had no space to even move. That was crazy! And each floor is pretty big too. That was just unbelievable. 3rd floor was salsa and of course, everyone wanted to stay there. Sylvie just took a salsa class so she was showing off. Carolina and Ali like it too. For me, I can dance salsa a bit but I'm not too crazy about it. And of course, all these crazy drunk men wanted to dance with us. We just had to keep saying no. They were so ugly! I'm sorry but they were!! This one guy who wanted to dance with Carolina was missing a front tooth! :O We saw a lot of Marshall people there too that night. From our class, the year before us and this year's senior class. I didn't like it that much. Haha. It just made it seem like I was back in high school and it was just another school dance. But that night was fun. It was our little adventure.
I watched so many movies too. Oh my gosh, I got addicted to Korean dramas!! (All thanks to Aye!) We finished Meteor Garden II (this is Taiwanese series) and then we watched "My Tutor Friend," "100 Days with Mr. Arrogant," "My Little Bride," "House of Flying Daggers" and some other movies. For the dramas, we watched "Full House," "My Pet," and the most wonderful dramas of all time "A Bright Girl's Success Story." I love the last series. It's the best drama I've seen. And the actor, Jang Hyuk, is amazing! He won Best Actor for that movie in 2002. Aye and I kept re-watching it. Haha. Each dramas has about 16 episodes so that's 16 hours and we usually watched them till 5 or 6 am every night. One night, we watched it till 10 am!!!!! That was when we went to bed! Haha. That was fun. That's what I miss about the break - going to bed at 5 am and sleeping till about 1 pm. Haha. Well, now I'm watching "Attic Cat" at school and I'm done with 10 episodes. I'm so addicted right now. I have to slow down a bit. But they're so good!
Last Thursday was Inauguration Day so we got the day off. We had our own GW Inaugural Ball at Omni Shoreham Hotel. Ali was supposed to go with me cuz it's her birthday that day and we had been planning about it since October. But at the last minute, she couldn't get out of her classes until late and the traffic was gonna be bad. So Julia ended up coming with me in her place. The hotel was pretty grand and there were more than 4,000 people for the ball alone. There were alumni congressmen, faculty and staff and parents too. And it was taking place in 4 different rooms so you can imagine how big this was. The food was great and the music was great. We finally found the "hip-hop" room and it was crowded!! This was where all the young people were. Everyone looked sooo good. It was a little weird to see some people from work shaking it up! LOL. The ROTC students had their uniforms on too and they look so good. :P It went by too quickly and before we knew it, it was over. But Julia and I stayed back to take more pix. That was fun!!
I do want to take a moment to talk about the tsunami in southeast Asia. I was shocked when I got the news that morning and I was even more surprised that even CNN wasn't talking much about it. The day it happened, the 26th, my dad told us about it when he got back from work. He knew it cuz he's a journalist for that part of the world. We watched the news and they weren't talking about it at all. CNN covered it for a few minutes and then talked about football results and unimportant things for a long time. Fortunately, my relatives in Burma weren't affected by it and Singapore didn't drown. My heart goes out to everyone that was affected by it. And may the victims lie in peace. These kind of natural disasters make you think of things. Human life is so precious and yet people go to war and kill. I will never understand these "patriots!"
Anyway, now I'm back in school. Classes have started and it's FREEZING outside. Walking everywhere in 15 degrees Farenheit is not something I like. I can't take the cold. And it snowed this past weekend too. It's only been 4 days of school and I can't wait for another break. I'm so lazy now. This semester is gonna be a bit more crazy than last semester. I'm continuing with Bio and Chem and apart from that, I'm taking UW20: Legacies of the Holocaust which is a writing class and a history class for humanities credit. And both classes have a lot of reading and writing to do. So I'm gonna be busy. I'm also taking Taekwando!! Haha. I can't believe it either! We had our first class last week and we had to yell every time we do something and my throat hurt afterwards. It's once a week for 2 hours. We also get to wear the actual uniforms! We're gonna get them tomorrow. And of course, our uniforms will be with white belts. It's kinda cool! ^_^ Well, anyway, this entry is really long now. I'll write more later! Bye now.

Why do I still think of you after all this time?
Will I be free of you?
