Bonjour,

The past week has been definitely crazy. I don't know about you guys but I'm having fun and at the same time very busy. I don't know how I can update this site often. I've been wanting to update the Friends page and a few other things but it seems like I never have enough time. Classes haven't even really started yet.
So yup, classes started on Wednesday and it was definitely very crazy. Wednesdays are gonna be my "hell" days. I have 4 classes and a lab and discussion all on one day. I'm gonna have an hour break from 9am to 5pm and another hour break before Bio lab from 6 to 9pm. Hmm...how am I gonna do this?? Ahh...I'm already dreading it. This week and next week will be kinda nice because we don't have any Bio labs. Chem labs start next Wednesday. So I have some free time this week. I like my classes. My professors are pretty nice. I had to drop Chinese class though. I was registered for part 2 of Basic Chinese! I wasn't the only one. There were 6 other freshmen that were in the same boat. So basically, half of the class had to drop it. All the part 1 classes were full and closed. But they were gonna make an exception but they conflicted with my schedule. Going around the Academic Building for an hour wasn't fun. Finally, I signed up for Psychology which I wanted before but couldn't cuz of Chinese. So I registered and then I found out that the class was going on right then. It's from 3:55 to 5 and it was already around 4:20. I quickly went there and there was nobody there. The professor was talking to a girl. So I explained to him about my situation. It was really frustrating cuz I really want to take Chinese. Maybe I could have done Part 2 but I was worried that I'd miss out on a lot from Part 1. So maybe I can take it next semester. Apart from that, everything is going smoothly. I'm taking 4 science classes now though - Sociology, Psychology, Chem and Bio. I was quite scared about Chemistry since I didn't learn much in IB Chem 1 with Mrs. Corrigan!! But the Chem professor is pretty cool. He was really funny and he was very clear. He seems to be a really good teacher. My Bio class uses the same textbook that I used in IB Bio 2 last year. We took notes and it was probably a review cuz I already knew them. I had the 2nd class of Sociology this morning and it was quite fun. We have 50 people in the class and it was more of a discussion then lecture. So it was kinda like IB. The professor is from Lebanon but for some reason she reminds me of Mdm. Desmarais!! But she's pretty nice so hopefully that will go away.
Wednesday night was when we went on the Target Run. The University took the Freshmen to Target with these buses. They were making many runs too. So after dinner in Ames Dining Hall (which was quite fun cuz all of us Hensley people kinda took a chunk out of the dining area. There was a whole group of us.), we went to Target. But guess where it was. It was in Alexandria, VA. It's in the Potomac Yard or something. There were so many GW students in the store and I could tell that other people were getting pissed a bit. We grabbed all the things we needed and of course, tons of FOOODD!!! :D Last night was Tom Deluca's hypnotist show. It was sooooo cool and freaky at the same time. People were doing things that he asked them to and they couldn't remember anything afterwards. This guy thought he was Jackie Chan's little brother and he was doing all these kicks on stage. The same guy thought he was US number 1 spy and that he was the only one who figured how to use the gun. He pointed it in his face and he was squirting water all over his face. Another guy thought fruits were his friends. One girl thought she was Britney Spears and she was singing and dancing and going around the audience and seducing the guys. It was hilarious!!! I believe he's gonna be at UVA tonight so go see him. Amazing and we were laughing soooo hard tears were flowing. After we got back, we had all these people in our room. It's great being in this hall cuz at least 2 doors are open and people are going in and out. Our door is always open so we chilled and talked. This guy named John, who's beside Andrew's room, is a hard-core Republican so he was watching the Republican Convention. All of us were teasing him and it was pretty funny. So while the convention was on, everybody was in our room. And then the whole group moved into John's room. This guy named Tae Ho and John did some old school rap which was AMAZING. They just knew all the words and they were like best buddies who planned it all out. It was great. There were 15 of us in his room and we still had room to spare. So that shows how big the rooms are here.
Today has been pretty good. I had one class this morning and then had a job interview which I thought went well. There was a job fair yesterday and I filled out like 7 or 8 applications and talked to some potential employers. I hope I get that job of being a community host (CH). You get $10/hr and you just plan events and things for a hall. And I can work on Mount Vernon too so that'd be nice. I'm just spending some time in my room today. Andrew played a few songs on his guitar for me when I got back. This one song called "SnowFlight" is sooo pretty. And just now while I was typing away here, John asked me if I wanted to join them for food. So we went to this Pub & Grill and chilled. And we were all talking and apparently, he and his roommate, Scott, were supposed to be next door to us when they first arrived. That'd have been BADDD!! We'd have to share the bathroom together. We were laughing about that. Crazy! And now we're back, John and Tae Ho are rapping again. It's amazing how a white kid like John can rap sooo well. I have to go listen to them in a bit. Tonight is the Mo Rocca's comedy show. A lot of people are going and I am too. That should be fun. After that, we might be going to a club. Some girls from Somers Hall said they were and I know them from CI (orientation) so we'll see. That would be nice. :) Party Girl!!! *wink* I haven't danced yet since I've been here. I'm just dancing a little bit at night in my room but it's pretty boring. I don't have all the good songs yet. But guess what. We just got Napster the other day so we have legal music downloads till May. But the thing is it costs $0.99/song or $10/album to burn. And the songs will be deleted after May. So it's like a trial but it's ok, I guess. We still get them for 9 months.
I can't wait for tomorrow!! Ali is visiting me and it's gonna be sooo cool. We're gonna hang out the whole day here and then I'm gonna go home with her and spend the night at home. Do some shopping and get the things I need before heading back here Sunday afternoon. And eat some home-cooked meals!!!! I'm soooo craving rice and some Burmese dishes. But Lynn and Mamar are in CA for the week so I have to cook for myself and I won't get to see them. But it's ok. I'll see them next week. This week seemed very long and I can't believe I've only been here for a week! :O I miss you guys lots. Keep in touch and stay out of trouble! *wink* Talk to you later. Bye.
