Age 5
My Mother always told me I had a Guardian Angel and that if I ever found myself
in trouble, where she could not get to me, I was to ask my Guardian Angel for
help. Being young and innocent I never questioned that I did not have one, I
just took it as fact that I did.
The experience begins in early June on what I thought was a good day for
swimming, but when I asked my Mother if I could go swimming in the river, she
said 'no way, the wind is too cold and not with your bronchitis'.
You see I would get sick every time I went into the water before July 1st I
would get sick and Mom didn't want me sick so she said no. I wanted to prove to
my Mother that I would not get sick if I got wet and I didn't think the wind
was all that cold, after all I was hot.
So I decided to take a swim anyway but instead of the river I chose the set tub
down at the barn where the animals drank from. At the time I didn't care how
dirty and discusting it was I just wanted to get wet and prove to my Mother
that I would not get sick.
To my surprise the water was warm and felt good on my skin there was only about
2 feet of water in the tub which was why it was so warm. I stayed and played
for about 20 min. When I decided to get out I could not.
Every time I went to stand up the wind which was really cold would put me right
back in the warm water, I started to get upset and cry I needed my Mother, then
I remembered what my Mother told me abut my Guardian Angel. If I was ever in
trouble she would help.
So out loud, I said, "Guardian Angel I need my Mother please can you get her
for me." I said it about 3 times, and when I looked at the house there was my
Mother running with a dish towel in her hand down to the barn.
She was very angry with me for disobeying her. After she put dry clothes on me,
I asked her how she knew I was in trouble, she said she just knew I needed her,
that it was a feeling of urgency.
