| The Mayo Roscommon Galway Experimenter Radio Group VHF/UHF SSB Challenge 2009 |
Date & Time: From 1500hrs - 1800hrs (local time) on Sunday 6th September 2009. Eligible entrants: Any EI/GI operator holding an amateur/experimenters licence. Clubs can also participate. Sections: Fixed section - 144Mhz/70Cm SSB only Portable section - 144Mhz/70Cm SSB only Scoring: All completed qso's 1 point per Km. A bonus of 1000 points to be added for completing 5 qso's on 70Cm. 144Mhz/70Cm scores to be combined (+70Cm bonus of 1000pts if 5 contacts are worked) to give final score. No claims can be made for qso's within ones own group if it's a participating club. Exchange: RS followed by a sequential serial number starting with 001 followed by Maidenhead locator. For example 59001 IO53ab. Logs: Logs to be forwarded to [email protected], arriving no later than 4th October 2009. Logs received after this date will not count towards any award. Awards: A trophey will be awarded to the winners of each section (Fixed & Portable). Further info: Entrants must operate in accordance with the terms of their licences. This contest is SSB mode only. The contest is open to all EI/GI experimenters/amateurs. Only one contact may be claimed per band with a specific station. The station must operate from the same site/location for the duration of the contest. For the purpose of this contest the term portable means: A station whom is not operating from a fixed or semi permanent building and one who is using portable means of power i.e: Battery or generator. Portable operation must not use mains power. For the purpose of this contest the term fixed means: A station whom is operating from a fixed or semi permanent building and who is using mains power. The term fixed also applies to an operator whom is operating away from his own main station address, i.e: operationg from a friends house. The ruling of the MRG Radio Group on all matters is final.
