Enterprise High School Alumni - Enterprise, Alabama

As many of you are aware, and some even personally affected, Enterprise High School was destroyed by a category EF3 tornado on Thursday, March 01, 2007. Nine fatalities were reported in Enterprise that day, with eight of those occurring at the High School. Hillcrest Elementary School also received significant damage, although no serious injuries were reported. Many areas of Enterprise were also heavily damaged as the tornado cut a path from West College Street Extension to beyond Dixie Drive.

The City of Enterprise has established an official relief fund at the Community Bank and Trust. City officials stress that 100% of the money donated will be used for Enterprise tornado relief efforts, and want to assure the public that all of the money donated will stay in Enterprise to assist the tornado victims.

Checks should be made payable to the "Enterprise Alabama Tornado Fund."

The Enterprise City School System has established the EHS Alumni Response Fund to separate funds intended for the Enterprise High School from the relief fund established to assist victims.

The Alumni Fund has four purposes:

To raise funds for a memorial (brick and mortar).

To establish scholarships in the names of those students who lost their lives in the tornado (memorial in perpetuity).

To accumulate undesignated funds for use by the school system for unanticipated needs during the rebuilding process

To provide a fund for designated gifts such as for the band, athletic programs, science labs and so on.
