SIERRA RAILWAY - PAGE 1
The roundhouse is like stepping back in time.  Sleeping locomotives, and all the tools to maintain them.

The #28, a 2-8-0 Consolidation was being readied for the start of their operating season.  This day, volunteers were working on reinstalling the smokebox door.
#34 is a 2-8-2 Mikado.  She has not run in many years, but has been stored completely intact.
All good locomotive shops have tremendous collections of stuff.  Projects in various stages of completion, tools, and spare parts.

In the foreground is the smokebox door to Shay #2, which is sitting along the right of the photo.

The 'shortie' coaches were built for the branch to Angel's Camp, which had tight curves and steep grades.  Now they only come out for special events.
More stuff, including an old 'high rail' vehicle, used most likely by the paymaster or Superintendant.
