The political leading authority has given great encouragments for industrial development on the government land according the great interest of our governorate to create a total developing effeet in the whore area by providing investing chanees and urging investors to establish factories especially those that depened on the local materials to make use of different resources and preferring /choosing the projects that have a distingue production that satisfy satisfies the local market needs and exporting for the international markets .

Phosphate
Phosphate is found in Abuo Tarrtour Mountain on the road between Elkhargah and Eldakhalah and it is about 45 km from Elkhargah . the amount of phosphate supplies that can be mined is about 710 million tones and it is made used by Abo Tarrtour phosphate project . phosphate is used in making phosphatic fertilizers and acids .

Lime stone
Lime stone covers the eastern knoll of the governorate and it found in great quantities in Elttair mountain and Tarawan mountain . the lime stone supplies in this area is a lot . it is used in making iron and steel , building , lime , carbon dioxide , purifying water , tanning and sugar refinery .

Sand
Sand is found in isolated areas in the governorate in massive quantities . there are three kinds of sand which are soft sand , rough sand and white sand . sand is used in making ceramics , building roads and glass .

Clay
The desert clay is found in depressions and it is found in the three main cities . clay is found in different colours like grey , green , red and black . the thick of clay in some areas reaches 70 m . it is used as a main element in making cement and ceramics and clay bricks .

Pebbles
Pebbles are found in great quantities in isolated areas below knolls and most of their kinds are limy . they are used in concrete building , cement bricks and paving roads .

Marble
It is found in great quantities in areas parralled to the asphalet road between Elkhargah and Assuit from the pointed area 68 km till Assuit on both sides of the road in different areas . it is colour is grey and it thick is about 4 m a block and it is used making steps , kitchens and the broken marble is used in making tiles .

Garnet
It is found in the north , south and in the middle of Abou Rayan areas . and about 130 km south of Elkhargah on Darb Elarbaaeen road . it can be extracted as blocks . it is also used as ornamental stones , floor tiles , kitchen steps and the decoration works .
