EAST QWAYNAT

It is considered one of the great projects performed on the land of the new valley . the studies have proved that there is agreat underground store of water . vast areas which are good for agriculture which contribute in creating new communities of constructions outside the old valley
 

LOCATION :
IT lies in the south part of A.R.E about 365 km south of dakhala . it is linked by paved phalt roads to kharga and ABWSIMBEL .
AREA
528 thousand feddan divided to 22 pieces of 24000 feddans . 10,000 are tobe reclaimed . total 220 thousand feddans .

water resources studies .
studies proved thatthere is abigstore of underground water that bcan be used for 100 years . the salt rate ranges from 200 -700 part a million so it is excellent and very good for agricultural and irrigation .
(b) special studies of land resources .
some studies have been done on 3,30 million feddan that indicated that the landis suitable for agriculture about 1,1 million feddan which considered of the best suitable for agriculture .
(c) energy studies :- the solar energy plant has been established and its area is about 200 feddan to experiment ,to experience and to conduct and to estimatethe use of the new energy and which is renewable in East owaynat region .

most of the land and soils are sand and amixture of sand and mull sometimes silt but most are suitable for agriculture .

The ministry of agriculture is so interested that it is concerned to uprise and increase the animal wealth in the new valley animal productions especially the east owaynat region is considered an empty and isolated . it is adisease free . it is considered the best region to breed and improve kinds of animals and to improve the studies and research in this field of the gardening service centre off the ministry of agriculture planted farms to produce animals and breed them with partnership of the ausralion side . these farms holds 5000 heads include 3 units of provender manufacturing . mary kinds of mixture of australion calves have been imported from Australia and others from germany . this is in addition an old animal producing plant found in the region amixture of farzian . heards of sheep and camels .
