The 4-week immersion course finished on 18 July and a friend and I took an early train to London to meet her friend and my parents. I stayed in London for another 3 days and then visited the Warwick Castle on the fourth day. Taking the tube made me feel more familiar with the cosmopolitan city.

It was quite cheap to travel from London to Warwick if people travel there in three. (I think that's good for smal groups of 3 - 4 or family travel within a day and returrn).

The wax figures in the Warwick Castle are in life size. There are different galleries to show the old life of the noblemen. Outdoors there were a peacock garden where peacocks are free to walk, rest and fly. We saw peacock babies as well but the battery of my camera was low. There were perfromances and games stalls in medieval style. Local and foreign tourists were attracted.

From London, we took a 4.5-hour day train to Edinburgh. We experienced different weathers throughout the journey. Clouds were dark and thick when we were approaching Scotland.

We took a sightseeing bus travelling around Edinburgh in the afternoon and went up to the Edinburgh Castle. There we got off and walked along the Royal Mile and downhill back to Prince Street. We went up the Carlton Hill and looked at the whole city view.

The next morning we continued the bus tour and went to Glasgow in the afternoon. It might be more fun if we could spend more time walking around the city (even my friends said it's quite boring to travel around Glasgow).

After staying two nights in Edinburgh, we took another 4-hour train to Inverness. The natural beauty was wonderful but it was a bit too windy for my parents when we watched the Inverness Tattoo outdoors.

The main thing to visit Inverness is to look at Loch Ness and Nessie (the monster). The next morning we joined a half-day tour to the Loch. We visited the Loch Ness Exhibition first and went to the Urquhart Castle. Outside the Castle, two people spoke to us in Putonghua (mandarin). They were British who lived in HK and Asia for many years and they took a photo for us. Then we had a cruise on Loch Ness. It reminded me of the boat trip on Xihu in Hangzhou.
