We get together at Au Coquelet Cafe every two months to chit-chat and
get support from other lesbian educators. It is an informal way to
connect and talk about a variety of issues that we experience in the
teaching profession. Topics of conversation have included: coming out
at school, discrimination in the school setting, what it's like to teach at a particular district
or at a particular grade level, how to get credentialed in California, etcetera.

We are diverse in our teaching backgrounds and are from all areas of
the bay area. EdWomyn consists of teachers, tutors, substitute teachers,
paraprofessionals, admininstrators, professors, etc., at
all levels of education (preschool to college level).
New womyn are always welcome at our gatherings.
