Welcome to Ed Womyn, an online community for queer womyn educators in the San Francisco Bay Area. The purpose of Ed Womyn is to provide resources and links of interest in the field of education, a forum for discussion & support, and a place to find out about news and events of interest to queer womyn in all fields of education.

We get together at a cafe in Berkeley bimonthly (every two months) and have been doing so for over three years. In an informal atmosphere, we can chat about what concerns us about teaching and being queer, issues that we are facing, including coming out at school, as well as discussion about curriculum and an exchange of teaching ideas. The group is quite diverse, both in age and in teaching backgrounds and we are from all areas of the bay. New faces are always welcome at our get togethers. We like to get together during the year as well for social activities, such as theatre outings, dinners, and the popular annual summer potluck picnic at an east bay park.
