Terrorism Criticized

From The News Agency, The People That Bring You The News

The recent attacks in London have brought terrorism itself under increasing criticism. Although public comments have been mixed following the deaths of at least 52 people recent polls indicate a small but increasing number of people are inclined to condemn terrorist acts.

Some however, are still willing to stand up to anti-terrorism sentiment. For instance BBC is refusing to yield to factions insisting the bombers be referred to as "terrorists". And network spokesmen say they have a good reason for doing so.

Also, CBS/Infinity Radio, citing concerns about possible viewer emotional reaction, has refused to air commercials for an upcoming anti-terror symposium entitled The Radical-Islamist Threat to World Peace and National Security to be held in Connecticut Sept. 21.

Nonetheless, anti-terrorism sentiment does not appear to be going away. Popular radio personalities like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have been openly critical of terrorism and continue to stir up resentment among those in danger of being blown to smithereens. This controversial subject will likely remain in the news for quite some time.
