Construction  Photos  &  Notes  page  2
This photo shows the bulkheads temporarily braced in place and the deck fitted.  Next I mounted the sides temporarily so I could mark them for trimming for the butt joints. I used a fiberglass butt joint instead of the butt blocks, I feel that the fiberglass and epoxy joint is stronger.
These two photos show the butt joint being made.  First you place a heavy sheet of plastic on the floor and center a strip of 3" 6 oz. fiberglass tape cut longer than the joint on the plastic,  saturate the tape with epoxy.  Next center the joint on the tape and place another piece of tape on top of the wood and saturate with epoxy.  Then place another piece of plastic on top of the joint and cover with scrap plywood weighted down with 5 gal. buckets of water and let cure for a strong smooth joint.

A single strip of tape is used on each side for 1/4" plywood.  Two strips of tape one 3" and one 5" on each side for 3/8" plywood.  Three strips of tape on each side for 1/2" plywood,  the third strip would be 7".  Place the widest tape on the outside and the narrowest on the inside
