As a young girl she was interested and had a talent of singing and writing songs. She has faced resistance from her own family and from Afghan Taliban community. Traditionally womed in the Afghan culture are forced to stay home and do house work. Shapery broke the tradition of women being a prisnores at home, and was the first kandahary girl to continue writing and singing songs to free women from staying all day and let them go out and do something productive with their life. Her life became in danger after performing on local stages, so she fled to Kabul and for sometimes she was secure there and performed in Kabul Radio and her life became threatend agian, so she was forced to leave Afghanistan and go to Pakistan. In Pakistan she continued perform women's rights songs. She encourged and motivated thousands and thousands of women to do the same as she did because anyone is capable to speak for their rights. |
