BIO for Edgar Lacey

I was born on Bayou LaFourhe in Louisiana, and grew up influenced by the Big Band and Jazz  music my father played.   My Aunt Myrtle bought me my first guitar at the age of 12, and I've been playing and writing ever since.  Though my life has gone various directions including a career path in nursing, I have continued to pursue my passion for songwriting and playing.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of playing with A Familiar Reality, The Saltwater Cats, Burt Wills and the Crying Shames, Jerry Lightfoot, Bruce Jones and various other Houston and Central Texas bands including a cut on one of the infamous Austin Unknowns albums.  My music tends to have what other songwriters call "funny chords," combining classic jazz, rock, R&B, Latin rhythms and a little country swing now and then.  Thanks for visiting my site and check out my calendar link to find out where you can find me.  See ya - edgar
