"Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and He will direct your path." Hearing and listening are two completely different things. Hearing is a physical process, listening a mental one. Just because a person hears sound waves entering his head, doesn't make him a good listener. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus explained the huge difference between hearing his words and listening to them. He compared the wisdom of those who act on His words to the foolishness of those who hear what He says but follow their own plans. He showed this by telling the story of two men who were both building houses. The first man understood that a house built on a solid foundation could withstand the storms when they came. Sure enough, the rain fell and the wind blew, but the wise man's house, built on the rock, was unshaken. The second man was foolish. He heard the advice but didn't listen. Because he didn't consider the possibility of storms, he built his house in sand. When the first winds and rains came his house fell with a mighty crash because there was nothing under it to hold it up. Don't be like the foolish builder. Put your trust in God-listen to His words (the Bible), and believe in Him to instruct you in how to live your life-go to Him daily for advice and He will build your life on SOLID GROUND! Where His love for you and His wisdom will see you through all of life's storms. Jesus has so much to tell you...Are you listening? PRAY:Lord, I come to you today knowing I can't do anything by myself. I need your guidance and your wisdom to help me make it through all the ups and downs of my life. I place my trust in you. Show me the way-for you are my only hope. Amen
