Text Box: VACATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Text Box: With so many options out there for summer vacational placements, it can sometimes be hard deciding which direction to turn. It is becoming apparent that summer placements are getting more and more vital for pharmacy students as pre-registration placements are becoming more difficult to find. The contacts and experience gained from such placements are incredibly valuable when it comes to applying for the pre-reg year.
Every year, most community pharmacies have a summer placement scheme, also most hospitals provide summer experience to a limited number of pharmacy students.
Text Box: boards.
If you would prefer to work in a hospital pharmacy, then it is best to write to the Chief Pharmacist of the hospital you wish to apply to and ask them if they run any placement schemes over the summer.
It may feel a bit early to apply for summer, but most of the deadlines for placements are around December-January so that arrangements can be made for the student.
So, get your applications in now, and enjoy the rest of the year.

Text Box: Yes, it’s true, Prof. Gifford has joined in with the fun and has become the staff representative on the MUPS committee.
There are hopes that this shall increase the involvement of staff in social events.
