Virgin Galactic is a company that will be offering flights into space starting in 2008.  A company called Kistler Aerospace Corporation has a reusable launch vehicle called the K-1 that will be used for commercial flights into the low earth orbit.  This ticket has a list price of $17 million, significantly lower than any of its competitors.
There are also some significant risks with going to space.  People need to be healthy and in good health in order undergo some physical abuse that occurs during space travel.  However, the spacecraft must also be able to deal with any situation that arises during flight.  According to Kenneth Wong, FAA, the failure of other safety critical systems such as the following could potentially result in loss of life: main structure, thermal protection system, power system, avionics including guidance, navigation and control system, health  monitoring system, flight safety system, crew/passenger escape system, orbital maneuvering system, and landing system.  One issue is that of whether certain safety requirements should be implemented for these commercial space flights that would make it almost impossible for death to occur.
