Reasons to eCycle

Electronic waste is growing rapidly. “Televisions are used on average for less than two years. For computers, it's three.” according to the EPA eCycling webpage. It is now becoming crucial to start eCycling just so we can preserve landfill space and ensure that the hazardous chemicals that make up electronics are properly disposed of before it is too late. We have so many reasons to recycle that need to be addressed. Recycling paper, plastic, glass, and aluminum is not the only thing we should be worried about.

It is beneficial to society to donate old technology. Donating allows you to help out schools, nonprofit organizations, and low income families to obtain technology that they wouldn't be able to afford themselves. Donating used electronics also extends their lives as valuable products and keeps them out of waste for a longer time.

Recycling recovers more than 100 million pounds of reusable material from electronics each year. This value could increase rapidly if more people were aware of eCycling. It helps reduce the pollution that is involved in manufacturing new products and the extraction of our limited resources. It will not be long before we start hitting the bottom of our resources if we continue in this pattern.

Electronic waste dumps are becoming more and more popular.
