Subsidised private battle fees Quality events at some of the best venues around the UK Membership of a well established and highly respected association. An Association run by an annually elected Committee of knowledgeable and dedicated members. Opportunities for paid TV and film work An opportunity to be part of the first and largest WW2 living history association in Europe A chance to meet like minded individuals who share a passion for military history No hassle for members at events all the logistics, health and safety are covered. All you have to do is turn up and set up your display. Opportunity to use live firearms at minimal cost and on many occasions free. Close links with veterans associations. Chance to help ex-service men and women through our annual charitable donations Joining as a Group. Normally to join as a group, we require you to have 10 members, however we can waive this rule in some cases such as: Where a rear line unit is represented and it's specialist nature makes it difficult to recruit Where a female unit is to represented This is not a definitive list and each application is taken on it's merits and on a case by case basis. Groups will have to agree to abide by the WW2 LHA's operating rules and regulations, copies of which can be supplied on request. We also expect groups to have a good overall appearance with regards to uniform and equipment. Once the group has been approved for membership, then the 'unit commander' may take the rank appropriate to his role. They may also have a representative on the committee and vote at the AGM. For those groups that attend regularly and contribute a good effort towards the Association's living history display at events, the committee may award an annual financial bursary which can be spent as the group sees fit. In 2006 this was set at 500. If you have any queries about joining, either as a group or an individual, please email us. |
