About Every Child Ministries--
New Sudan
The roots of Every Child  Ministries go back to 1980, when John Rouster heard God call him to leave  his dairy farm in the US and go to Africa as a missionary.  When he told his wife, Lorella, he was surprised to find out that she had been praying about that very thing for two years with some friends at the school where she taught.  The Rouster family arrived in DR Congo (then called Zaire) in 1981 with their family.  After serving three years with another mission, they were convinced that God was laying on their hearts a specific burden for the children of Africa.  In 1985 the Rousters with some Christian friends were instrumental in founding Every Child Ministries (ECM), a Christian mission devoted entirely to the needs of African children and youth.

After living for many years in Congo, the Rousters became International Directors for ECM in 1997.  Since then ECM has expanded, now having major ministry centers in Ghana and in Uganda, as well as in DR Congo.  From these bases they have reached out to many other African nations, and now to New Sudan.
For many years ECM leaders had read about the deliberate bombing of the south by the Sudan government in Khartoum.  They had often prayed for the Christians in Sudan.  In 1996, they visited Sudan and delivered gifts to a Christian orphanage there.  Teacher training seminars are planned for 2009, and many other projects are in the works.  Please stay tuned to see what God does for the children of New Sudan in the days ahead.
