Eclipse Dance Company

Eclipse Dance Company, formed in 2004, is a 12 member, jazz based company that performs in and around the Philadelphia region. Eclipse is a technically strong and versatile company that incorporates contemporary styles of ballet, modern, hip-hop, and tap into their repetoire. The company's past performances include their host studio's (Wendy's Dance Center) annual showcase, their premiere solo concert in 2005, Ignite, followed by their second annual solo concert in 2006, Fusion. Eclipse performs in several collaborative concerts including Eclipse Dance Company and Friends and Female Persuasions which is held annually by various female choreographers in the Philadelphia region.

The Directors

Melanie Hoynoski

Melanie is a 2003 graduate of Temple University, where she received a Bachelor of Science inTherapeutic Recreation and a Minor of Dance. Along with co-directing Eclipse Dance Company, Melanie and Jennifer are both in their 5th year choreographing large scale competition dance productions at Wendy's Dance Center in Fairless Hills, PA. They have recently been awarded "Best Choreography" at The United States Tournament of Dance and at Starquest Performing Arts Competition. Melanie has previously performed with The A.D.D. Company, Monarch Dance Company, and Underground Dance Works. Melanie has danced for Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom, Temple University Department of Dance undergraduate productions, and for the Temple University Dance Team, which she has also choreographed and coached for. Melanie is currently working as a Child Life Specialist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Jennifer Lentz

Jennifer is a 2002 graduate from Temple University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance with dual minors in Business Administration and Health Studies. Jennifer Lentz and Melanie Hoynoski are the co-artistic directors of Eclipse Dance Company. Jennifer has previously performed with The A.D.D. Company, Monarch Dance Company, Temple University Alumni and Undergraduate productions, and the Temple University Dance Team. Her choreography has won awards at New York City Dance Alliance, The United States Tournament of Dance, Dance Xplosion Regional and National Competitions as well as Starquest Performing Arts Competition. Jennifer had the privilege to be the resident choreographer and competition coordinator at The Dance Conservatory, the official school of The Ballet Theatre of Dover from 2003-2005. Jennifer is currently a full-time faculty member, assistant ballet mistress, choreographer and competition coach at Wendy's Dance Center in Fairless Hills, PA.
