- A door inside the doctor's room is opened. A girl comes in -

Meanwhile, Dr. Jezebel is watching Dolly and Merryweather through the windows.

Dr. Jezebel (to the girl just showed up): "You are interested in that girl? I don't think she is your favorite type."

- The back of the girl is shown.
She wears a black veil to cover her face.
She is holding the mask - the mask with emotionless eyes and long, exposed tongue. -

The Girl: "That girl named Dolly . . . She thinks the most important thing in this world is beauty . . . ! And she thinks she is ugly just because ... because of the freckles and red hair! Comparing to me, it's just nothing!", she touches her face , "This face . . . this crooked face. . . whoever see it. . . Oh, yes! Even my parents . . . dare not see it directly. . . isolated me from the world . . .

-She recalls her childhood life as a dog:
a young girl is chained inside a dirty, small cell where the left over were left for her to eat .
And she remembers how she was saved by Dr. Jezebel -

The Girl: "Only you, Doctor . . . only you accept me. Not fear of my face . . . You are not the same as the other family doctors or teachers. Only you accept me , not knit your bow once when touching my face ."

Dr. Jezebel (comforts the girl): "My loved Dora! Haven't I told you that appearance can't last forever? It's just a flash."

Dora: "But . . . I want to be beautiful! ", touching Dr. Jezebel's face, "I want to be the girl who matches you most!", she holds her precious jar of eyes and says, "I did what you taught. Taking away those beautiful girls' eyes in the full moon nights. Those who took the medicine are the proof of being scarified. And, if the two girls' eyes are collected, then six pair of beautiful eyes are gathered. . . And, that's the time I became beautiful !", she continues, "I . . . even you are a demon, I care less . . . Even the girls must be sacrificed, I don't care, as long as I can be beautiful."

Dr. Jezebel: "Dora! So, the last sacrifice is the girl who accompanied Dolly, right? Well, the choice is great! She is such as adorable girl! But, do you know who she is?"

Dora: "Mmm, yes! I know! I know well! Not just the cursed family, but also that young master whose eyes are beautiful . . . "

Dr. (hugs Dora and murmurs): "Supposing, your spoiled little sister, Merryweather is dead terribly, how sad and despair you become, Cain . . . ! !"

- In a gathering, Cain is surrounded by rich girls -

Girl A: "Earl Cain! Do you want to walk to the Greenhouse? "

Girl B: "Maria, you are foxy!"

The girls (look back and see who judged them): "What . . . What did you say? How rude!"

- A beautiful, well-dressed lady holdings a fan, stands proudly in front of the girls.
She wears a floral patterned dress with a large bow ribbon in front of the waist area -

Girl C :"Er.... this voice is Dolly's? You are Dolly?"

Girl A: "What's going on? Haven't seen her for a while, and all her freckles disappeared and her red hair turned lighter.. . skin is as white as the ivory."

Girl B: "But, she looks ill, the kind of sickness beauty. . . "

Cain studies Dolly and thinking . . . .

- A New Look Dolly shows up that surprised the girls -

- The Other Day, in Dolly's room -

Merryweather (worry): "Dolly! Please don't take that medicine anymore! Though your eyes vision is cured and no longer need to wear glasses, I think your eyes look strange, a kind of odd feeling is shown in your eyes. . . "

Dolly is busy brushing her hair in front of the mirror desk, she doesn't have to mood to listen what Merryweather said.

Merryweather (keeps on showing her concern): "Though you become thinner and beautiful, don't you think it's going too far? And your hair colour . . . it's strange. . . "

Dolly (look cool and brush her hair): "Oh, by the by, did you come with your brother? Even you are jealous of my beauty, I won't give that medicine to you! Ask me back to the old me? I am sorry, but I won't do that! The fact that my hair colour changes is the sign of turnning into blond! You see!"

- Suddenly, a large hair piece is brushed away .
Both Dolly and Merryweather are shocked by this -

Dolly (scare): "Aa.... what happened . . . My face . . . My face is so hot!.... FACE...."

- WAH ~~~~ !! -

- In the living room, Cain is having tea with Dolly's parents -

Dolly's father: "It's from my daughter's room!"

Cain: "It's Merryweather's screaming. Is it...... "

- They all rush into Dolly's room -

They saw a tall man, silver gray hair, is taking away Dolly's pair of eyes.
Dolly is dead and her body is full of blood.
Merryweather is too frightened to say anything.
The Big full moon lights shine into the room, making the scene look more terrible -

Dr. Jezebel: "How are you, my dear Earl?"

Cain : " Dr. . . . . "

Merryweather (frightened and emotional): "Brother! Dolly... Dol... she ... Her face was bleeding suddenly . . . This made her scare and crazy. She rushed into the mirror.. She died alive! And ... and then.... this man came in via the window! It's he who took away her eyes . . . "

Dr. Jezebel (catching Merry): "What a chatter box!", he covers Merryweather's mouth with a piece of cloth filled with medicine .

Cain: "Stop this Doctor -----"

- These people linked together by the cursed blood -

Dr. Jezebel: "How I am eager to see your regret and dispair look when you learn this girl's destinty will be the same as Dolly's"

- Dr. Jezebel left -

- On the other side, there is a man smoking his pipe and smiled cruel.

HA! HA! HA!

- Dr. Jezebel brought Merryweather away.

My feeling about this story
Whoops.. quite a bloody beginning of 'Scold's Bridle'. To be honest, who doesn't want to be a beauty?! Or, at least, one wants to look good / normal, right?! I think it's not wrong to chase for bauty on the condition that it's not going too far. For sure, jealousy, revenge, killing, etc. could be a result of catching beautiful look ? Only inner beauty could last eternality, but, to a certain degree, I guess I have to admit that I want to be beautiful too (appearance) ^_^ Dr. Jezebel is sure an evil creature! Maybe it's becuase he wants to gain his adopted father's attention, love and care, that's why he truns a mad, crazy man?! What's your feeling about this story? Wanna share with me?
