� no seriously. The Green Party isn�t bad, it just has the same problems Jimmy Carter did when he went for a second term. We�re not mature or intelligent enough for such peaceful, smart leadership. And that�s not just an insult to Americans, but to the world at large � the Green hippies aren�t savvy and pushy enough to keep us afloat in such a violent world. The Republicans are heavy handed, stupid and violent, but at least that�s some protection. We could use better though, and of course there�s the fact that people might not hate us quite as much if we didn�t have Republican leaders, especially idiot Texans (I thought we gave that shit back to Mexico, or was that just a dream?).
Anyhoo, what to do now? Vote Independent? That would be neat if money weren�t involved. We only know what we see on TV and TV time costs money. It�s too bad, because Minnesota pulled a neat trick with Jesse Ventura. He was helped by the money of an independent third party, but really espoused no political affiliation. Voters had the option of just voting for a guy based on his individual qualifications. He turned out to be a disaster, albeit an incredibly entertaining disaster, but his election, moreso than anything the Libertarians have squawked out, gave voice to our dissatisfaction with politics as usual, the next step being dissatisfaction with government as usual. The subsequent weirdness may have made us a little gun-shy about rocking the boat to prove a point, but I hope it�s not the end of thinking differently at the polls.
My mom always told me to vote for the person, not the party. Maybe someday that will be a practical option. Until then, vote your conscience, vote your rebellion, vote your favorite letter combination, but for God�s sake vote! Especially if you�re a Democrat, you lazy turd!
