| Our destination is Rumah Kulit, Long Jawe, the farthest place affected by the Bakun Dam, now under construction. You are among the few determined travelers to be seeing the last of this serene and magnificent area before it is gone forever with the water. Watch up for any hornbirds flying across our path, or monkeys eyeing us from tall dipterocarp trees or some lost wild boars crossing the river. Our experienced boatmen know when not to take the risk of shooting a rapid. The river current in certain parts sometime are too strong for the twin 40 hp engines and the route too dangerous to tackle. When we reckon it would be too dangerous to shoot a rapid, you must come down and walk along the bank. You may take some beautiful photographs while we do the pulling! Pulling and dragging the boat can be quite tiring, but since you would be walking to take our photographs, there is nothing to complain about. You might wonder how many people could make a trip. It would depend on the water level during departure. If it is high, our bigger boats could take 8 - 10, otherwise it would be 4 - 6 excluding our personnels. Our boatmen have travel the river so many times. So you are in good hands! Welcome on board. |

| I strongly suggest you bring a lot of films to take beautiful shots such as this. Better still if you are seen in the photo as part of the party dragging the boat. It would be a precious exhibit to show your friends back home.. | ||||||||||
