Ulu Balui Safari continues
Do you know that one of the most expensive fish in this region is found here in our river? 'Empurau'. One of these fish could fetch RM80 - RM220 per kg in the nearest town, depending on the type and weight category. An adult fish may weigh up to 19kg!

We would be a little calculative to spend time fishing along the way as it would be best to do so in Long Jawe. Neither would we stop to catch small fish along the way except may be for lunch (if the engine operator thinks it is worthwhile).

We may even skip fishing and shoot straight up to let you enjoy the beauty of the riverine scenery.

If you feel like taking a nap during the journey, please go ahead, but I would think that you should have slept early last night.

You see, Sarawak is a place where it is inevitable for nature lovers to move around in the interior by boat. Throughout the journey, you may note signs of logging operation. The authorities are monitoring these activities of natural resources extraction as to minimize the impact on the environment.
One reason some people in the 'ulu' still live around here is because of the fish. The 'empurau' fish is like gold. Lets hope you bring us luck and catch some of these precious fish during this trip. Would you like to eat it or sell it?
I suggest we keep moving.
Keep moving
