Always With You
In the womb you were with me,  you loved  and cared for me.
Told me your dreams, your hopes and fears.
Your dreams for me.
You promised to always be with me.

As an infant you held me gently.
Lovingly caressed my face, my hands.  You soothed me with "my lullaby".
Cooed to me, kissed my forehead and cheeks, bathed me in love and affection.
You promised to always be with me.

When I was a child you laughed with me, adoringly watched me run and play.
Worried when I fell,  picked me up and held me tightly.
Tenderly kissed away my tears, calmed me and made it "all better".
You promised to always be with me

In my teens you feared for me, patiently taught me.
No matter how trying and horrible I was, you stood by me.
Come Hell or high water,
You promised to always be with me.

Now that I am a woman, I see how you helped me find wings.
How you gave me strength to fly with out fear, taught me the meaning of love.
Showed me how to be strong.
You promised to always be with me.

As I grow and change every day, I realize that without your love
If not for your wisdom and kindness, I could not be what and who I am.
And so Mommy, we come full circle,
And I promise to always be with you.
