On January 12th, 2009, a Virtual Sit-In of the Fraport propaganda web site took place. This online protest aimed at the expansion of Frankfurt airport (Germany) by the airport operating company Fraport. To build the new runway Nordwest at Frankfurt airport, Fraport will cut down trees in a protected forest reservoir and destroy habitats for birds and other animals. This forest has an important function in the region; it reduces pollutants and noise. Increasing air traffic at the Frankfurt airport will have negative consequences for the living quality for people in the region and increases greenhouse gas emission. According to plans from Fraport, the clearing of the Kelsterbach Forest will start on February 4th.

Am 12. Januar 2009 gab es eine Online-Demonstration gegen die Webseite der Fraport. Fraport will 250 Hektar Bannwald und Vogelschutzgebiet roden um die neue Landebahn Nordwest zu bauen - das entspricht einer Fläche von circa 350 Fußballfeldern. Der Wald hat eine wichtige Schutzfunktion gegen Abgase und Lärm in der Region. Vermehrte Flugbewegung am Frankfurter Flughafen bedroht die Lebensqualität der Menschen in der Region und führt zu erhöhtem Ausstoß von klimaschädlichen Gasen. Fraport hatte ab dem 12. Januar "Hausrecht" im Kelsterbacher Wald bei Frankfurt. Nach Plänen der Fraport sollen die Rodungsarbeiten im Kelsterbacher Wald ab dem 4. Februar beginnen. Es gibt 2 Termine auf die möglicherweise noch gewartet wird: Die Landtagswahl am 18. Januar, und die vorläufige Entscheidung des Verwaltungsgerichtshofes in Kassel, einige Wochen später.

As in the previous online demonstration in 2005, everyone could join the online demonstration against Fraport. Between 400 and 700 people took part in the Virtual Sit-In on January 12th.
