Saturday 22nd May 2004 As many people already know that Erik is a creator of things sonic ... Erik also has a vast talent in things visual as well. On August 14th, Erik will have his very first art exhibition on display (and for purchase) at the Gold Coast Convention Centre ... more details and pics of his artwork to come... Erik, Congratulations! :) :) ______________________________________________________________________ Sunday 16th May 2004 The latest advertised gigs may possibly be Erik's last ones for a while. So, if you want to catch an Erik gig, I suggest you do it very quickly! Erik is planning to take some time off from the acoustic gigs so he can spend more time on his music (& other things) and getting it "out there". There are some really great ideas in the works ... personally, I cant wait. :) If all goes to plan, it is going to be just amazing, :) ...something that I've wished and dreamt for Erik ever since the very first acoustic gig that I saw almost 2 1/2 years ago. And I think everyone will be very very happy with what may eventuate. Naturally, I will remind Erik regularly that we miss him! Hehehe In fact, I've already told him that! :) Friday 14th May 2004 - check out the Gigs page! Media Release & Overview ______________________________________________________________________ Friday 23rd April 2004 The following is the latest info on Erik's track on Fiona Kernaghan's CD... " just keeping you updated regarding Feeling Fiona album which features Erik's version of "Human Radio". we're in the final stages. website is about to be launched and will feature an audio clip of Erik's track soon. www.feelingfiona.com is the link - this will also be where we will be selling the album once it's released. keep up the great work and looking forward to your feedback about the track soon. " ______________________________________________________________________ Sunday 7th March 2004 Erik has finished work on the song "Human Radio" for 'Feeling Fiona' CD. Now Erik is currently working on new tracks of his own, originally the music was to be more organic/acoustic but now has developed into more rock orientated. :) There have been some other changes/interest ... and it is taking a little longer than anticipated. Good, no, Great things come to those who wait. :) :) Erik is also keeping very busy with his gigs around SE Qld, from the Sunshine Coast down to the Gold Coast, mileage done in one week is more than a normal person does in 3 or 4 months! There is a new experience and sound at Erik's gigs from this week ... I knew he was versatile! :) ______________________________________________________________________ Saturday 7th February 2004 Erik is currently working on the track for Fiona Kernaghan's CD... then it will be back to work on his own solo CD inbetween doing gigs ... The CD is titled "Feeling Fiona" and the track is "Human Radio" and is scheduled to be released April/May (all going well of course). Stay tuned for information on where you will be able to purchase this CD ... (as well as Erik's long awaited own solo CD of course) _____________________________________________________________________ Monday 12th January 2004 Art work for the cover of the CD is almost finished. Erik asked me my personal opinion on the music, is there something that should be changed....etc. Ah nope! ... I asked him IF he wanted to re-record any of it, would he have to go to a recording studio, probably in Sydney to do it? He said "No, I've done it all at home, I have all the equipment" So, yes this is totally all Erik's work, he did it all from go to woh. Everything that you hear played is Erik playing, all the instruments, songwriting, producing, everything, all of it .... Even the art work when it is finished and the printing and the pressing of the CDs will be done by Erik himself. Talented man!!! :) (This CD that Erik recorded himself, over the past 2 years ago - his own music, is in fact the same one that "they" wanted to release under the name 1927. Personally I think after hearing the CD I am glad they didnt release it as a 1927 CD, cos I don't see it as a 1927 CD at all, it does not sound like 1927, its music for the current era. And I am not the only one to think that, a couple of other fans have said that to me, also. IT IS ERIK WEIDEMAN in the new millennium) Late Edition: Erik will also be recording a song of Fiona Kernaghans (Lee & Tanya's sister). A CD is in the making of Fiona's songs being covered by other artists (sorry, I forgot to mention this before, I really should write all this down! Doh! LOL) ______________________________________________________________________ Monday 5th January 2004 I asked Erik his honest opinion on the site I had done so far, should I change or delete or modify anything ... His response "love the stuff!". Hmmm he's too easy to please! LOL Erik let me know what gigs he has lined up for January, and possibly February (see Gigs page). He also mentioned "Working on some new tracks as we speak." ... "I've got some recent pics that i'll send to you ....." ______________________________________________________________________ |
