Tripsichore Yoga DVD Review
Sept 2006 Yoga Journal reviewer Richard Rosen grades the Tripsichore dvd set as one of TOP 10 yoga videos ever made! Geared for the strong intermediate-advanced yoga student with tons of tips for inversion success; video is 5.5 hrs long, chock-full of worldly wisdom, in chapter format. A second audio track titled "Alternative Commentary" is filled with nuggets of notable information as well.

Tripsichore yoga is a user-friendly technique with emphasis on control, quality, and even-ness of movent with breath in sync.

Dvd includes amazing artistic performances with Ed & Eileen Gauthier, detailed workshop fundamentals with Ed, and 3x 1.-1.5 hr vinyasa yoga class options with Ed & Eileen, geared for fit and gutsy yoga practitioners eager for topsy-turvey action. Of note the headstand and handstand versions of the 'Tripsichore Simple' and 'Tripsichore Regular' practices are shown separately.

Orthodox directions on breath and bandhas are clearly drilled, speaking volumes in few words. Sequencing and terminology are innovative indeed, so best to preview video once or TWICE before attempting to follow along! Postures and transitions are in vinyasa format with inversions i.e. handstands or headstands as INTEGRAL and KEY elements.

Ed Clark is authentic, bold and bluntly honest in his delivery and presentation. This dvd is a true gem. Granted much of Tripsichore's sequencing is advanced, but Clark's technical lectures & demos alone in the workshop sections are worth the price of the dvd (~$37).

As a dedicated yoga student (over 50) who practices a modified version of the Tripsichore dvd 3-5 times a week, I am able to move safely through sequences that build intelligently, making steady progressive gains over past 6 months, enjoying insight from an innovative perspective.

I find the Tripsichore Yoga DVD video challenges & motivates me like no other and I consider it a "must have" for all seriously seeking to advance their asana and inversion practice.

November 2008 revised review & update: I am still #1 fan of this video, practicing 3x weekly, an efficient 75-77 minute total workout. e's version= first 2/3 of Tripsichore Regular Handstand practice, plus 'Girish' sequence from Tripsichore Simple practice, plus e's choice of yin postures before final relaxation. It keeps me honest, strong, and full of vigor. (en- age 54, practicing yoga since 2001)
