Pedro Angel Garcia

Pedro Angel Garcia is the thrid generation to carry that noble name. His father before him and his grandfather being the first. Born in Havana,Cuba, he and his family escaped the government- wedding rings taken, everything taken. Destination: New York, NY, what a wondrful town. Sturggling with two jobs Pedro A. Garcia II fought to make his claim in a new world without knowing the language. His son has taken that courage away with him making his stake in Houston, TX, his new home. Owning two establishemnts, El Meson resturant started by his father and The Twelve Spot bar that soon wil flourish in the downtown area. Peter was chosen to fill the spot because he is the biggest influence in my life and on my writing. The story of how he qualifys is as follows; One day, years ago, I stumbled across sheets of yellowed with age paper, spiral bound the first page being a title page for a collection of poetry written by my father. "Cantabrica and other poems." By Pedro Angel Garcia 8-1-1981 Houston, Texas , is what the cover said. I would like to share with you the depth of his work. These poems were the first I ever thought my father to be anything other than my father.

Matt Hune

Matt Paul Hune, born September, 25, 1984 in Houston TX. He started writing only recentely, about two years ago. I asked him why and he said it was something he "needed to do...it just happened. It started with poetry." He likes the freedom of it and the emotion it transfers onto its readers. In his words, "It is a raw form of expression without rules". Writing in the future is a definite yes. "For myself, definately." His poems all share a reoccuring theme of the many aspects of love which he acredits to his girlfriend. His future plans are to focus on his acting and playwriting future.

Chris Joslin

Chris Richard Joslin, born November, 7 1984, Houston, TX. Started writing in the thrid grade. He wanted to be able to control his own heros and their circumstances. "I like the contol over a universe I created." He plans to be writing for the rest of his life, but mostly he is interested in and focuses on films, screenwriting, and playwriting. The first play he wrote was in the seventh grade called The Jungle, it dealt with athesist, rebellious teens who kill thier math teacher. His latest work, which is displayed on this site, Tongue Twister Jigsaw, deals with the unexplainable universality of love and loss. How do these ideas and stories come to him? He just "spits it out and shapes" them. Chris Joslin, a senior at HSPVA, The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, is graduating this year and continuing his education at Long Island Universtiy.

Elayni Garcia

Jesscia Elaine Garcia, born October,2,1984, Houston, TX. Started writing in the sixth grade because she saw her cousin doing it. Her cousin has now stopped since but Jessica has hung on tightly to this art which she believes is her calling. "It was and will always be an outlet for me. Come on, I get to express what I am feeling and what I want without any restriction. Who wouldn't want that kind of freedom?" To continue writing she didnt see the importance in a writing department as part of her education, but a good one. St. John's has no such writing department but she says they are required to write an essay for every class, even science and math. With a well rounded and classical education Jessica is sure that her writing will be brought to a whole new level.
