The Red Cross appeared. The only Red Cross we had seen to this point was the lady from Carlisle at the motel.  They delivered clean up kits. Mop, cleaner, push broom, regular broom, a bucket, scrub brush, one pair of gloves, and clear plastic with rubber bands, and two collapsible handles.  Only one of which worked.   Later in the afternoon they reappeared in a yellow Cadillac convertible wearing dress clothes and high heels carrying food.   As the lady brought the bag of food to the house she ask me if we were sure we needed it.  Thank god for Katherine, who looked cute as she stood in front of me and said We lost all our food.   It saved me from using the non-functioning handle in an inappropriate manner.

We spent the day cleaning up the down stairs, with breaks for lunch,  getting the wet stuff out side. Gary started on the removal of the wet wall materials. Mike Murphy called about 9 am to check on us and ask what he could do.  I told him I needed boxes and tarps.  He brought me 10 nice plastic containers to borrow indefinitely and some traps.  He made the mistake of asking if there was anything else he could do.  Knowing his enjoyment of laundry mats I ask him if he could take Laurens clothes to the laundry mat and wash them for me.  We were running against the clock trying to beat the rain to get things out and covered up.  He said sure but he would take them home with him if someone would load them.  Lauren did. Murph returned later with clean and dry Lauren clothes in bags.

Jerry Flasher did call at one point and ask me to pass along news which I did via a phone chain.

In the evening, two of the guys from of the trailer park stopped by and ask to collect the Aluminum that was being thrown out and that had been washed down stream.  Unfortunately, my husband and I saw the one man take Katies change out of the sled and put it in his pockets.  Now I know that there was $10 of silver change there because I had to pick it up, wash it off and count it.  You hate to file charges against some one over $10 worth of change.  I decided to sleep on it.

Photos from 7/2/06, we were exhausted when this day ended.
