6:00am - Checked stream, still about 2.5 feet to bank. Took this picture to mark stream height;

We staged the food, bags, and dogs at the top of the Stairs in the house. Everything else that we felt could be affected by flood water had been moved to my bedroom or Kates on the second flood the night before.
Went to work and monitored situation as best able. Not all stream levels are viewable to the public. Tuesday evening I was at a Union meeting in Harrisburg at 6 pm until 9:00 pm.
While in this meeting I got several calls and messages from PEMA command center where Jim Barnhart and Mike Murphy were conducting a Nuclear Drill for the Peach Bottom Facility that the likely hood of flooding in the area was getting worse.
Got back to Chambersburg at approximately 9:45 pm, checked the stream at the end of Mickey Inn Lane, the water was close to coming over the bank. Any time we get water it will start there. At 10:15 pm we noticed that the Fire police were in Village Green Park. We didnt know why they were there. It wasnt until a fire police man came down our lane looking for the neighbor, and I stopped him that we got any information that it was being recommended we evacuate. At that time we had no water on the road or anything. I ask about shelters and evacuation points and he told me that he thought there was a shelter at the Scotland community center. It was very difficult to get straight information from this gentleman.
They werent even telling the residents of the park what was going on. Zack and Cody who were home alone ask me what the Fire Guy said I told them what I knew from PEMA and the Fire Guy. They ask me if they should call their parents and I advised them to do so. I walked up and ask the Fire Guy if he knew these children were home alone. He stated No and I am really to busy to worry about that.
I ask one of the neighbors, Deb, who lives in the park to check on them if she evacuated. She said she would. At this point, approx. 11 pm, the roads were dry. Our game plan is always if Rob and Robin go, we go. Rob and Robin went to bed. I decided to go take a cat nap and Gary decided to stay up. We made arrangements with Deb and Luke Abrahams to pick up Donovan and Aiden if and when we evacuated
We were checking the TV, the radio, looking online, listened
to the weather radio, and we couldnt find any information about where to go or
what to do. I turned on my scanner and listened to see if there was any
information being given. NADA!
