Our Story

The founding mothers of Zeta Associate Chapter united in September of 1999 in search of a bond to bring together unique and diverse women.
The interest group at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale was created in the hopes of bringing forth a chapter of a multicultural sorority - Delta Xi Phi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.
Multiculturalism, the Advancement of Women through Higher Education, Community Service, Sisterhood, and Friendship helped the founding women to realize their dream and confirm that this organization was the right one for them.

In November of 1999, these eight women officially became Delta Xi Phi's Zeta Colony.

This group of women formed a deep sisterhood - a family a home away from home. They bonded in love, support, friendship and the desire to make a lasting impression on each other, their community and the sisters to come. On Saturday, February 5, 2000 these 8 women became the Founding Sisters of Zeta Associate Chapter of Delta Xi Phi Muliticultural Sorority, Inc.
