HOW WE STARTED
Started in November 2006, Divine Hearts is a new chapter of Thekchen Choling (Singapore) commissioned by our Lama. Divine Hearts shares Thekchen Choling’s vision of “Connecting All with Divine Hearts” and we aim to spread love and compassion to all regardless of race, language or religion through tangible means. Starting with Singapore, we intend to extend our assistance to all in other countries as well.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Social Service Centre
In an effort to reach out more people who are in need, we would like to set-up a one stop Social Service Centre to improve the accessibility to our services. We aim to provide services that will be able to meet the basic needs of the less privilege.
It is also hope that the social service centre will act as a base to educate and nurture youths and also to gather like-minded people with a heart to serve the community through these outreach activities. We hope to also extend these services to the needy communities in other countries as well.

Homes for the neglected and underprivileged
We see several societal trends and natural phenomena having an impact on our lives today.
- As our society becomes more competitive, many people do not want to be burdened by the birth of a child
- With our rapidly aging society, there will be an increasing number of old people who would need people to care for and look after them
- As Mother Earth deteriorates with Industrialization and its resulting pollution, our sick environment increasingly faces many natural disasters.
Hence, we aim, in the near future, to develop homes for the less privileged children and old folks. Starting with Singapore, we intend to extend our assistance to these groups of people in other countries as well.
OUR CURRENT STRATEGY
To support the objectives of Divine Hearts, we hope to develop and nurture more youths through our three-pronged approach:
Education
- Providing bursaries for children and youths from less privileged family.
- Free tuition for the children and youths from less privileged family.
- Mentoring and Counseling Services.
Character Building
- Courses - To provide courses for youths such as Videography, Calligraphy, Musical Group such as Karaoke or Band, Make-up, Rock Climbing, Cycling, Reiki and any other activities that interest them.
- Sports – On every Monday, there is a “Sports Day” organized for the youths so that they can interact and socialize with each other.
Social Values and Responsibility
- Become a Volunteer at DH – Befriending and helping less privileged children, youths and the elderly.
- Courses for volunteers to enhance their voluntary skills.
- Support Group for volunteers.
PROJECTS COMING UP
Free Tuition for Low Income Families
There have been recent reports on the link of poverty to education levels and it seems to be a downward cycle for low income families who cannot afford tuition for their children and may even require the children to work to help to support their families. In an effort to help these children to improve in their studies and also to defray the costs of tuition fees, we hope to provide free tuition to them and also to engage them in our youth activities as well.
As a young and small organisation, we require support in our operation needs and we are looking into collaborating with individuals and organisations and together, to reach out to the less privileged around us. :)
