Gil Cang, from the early Young Disciples days, part of the north London posse, who now writes and produces for Brandy, Michael Jackson, amongst others, worked with me on this tune that I'd written many years ago, and Gil put some groove into it! The other track on my Triple A single, was produced by Miles Bould, who produces for Morcheeba, and others, and is also the husband of Yolanda Charles.
I recentley recorded some songs for Yolanda's album. Yolanda plays bass for Robbie Williams and played bass on my Blessed Burden album, and toured with myself, as well as with Paul Weller. Some keen interest seems to be brewing about my Triple A side single, which is so cool!
I thought I'd introduce the tracks from my "Alberta's GrandDaughter" album, in order of accessibility, hence the reason for releasing "Don't Look Back In Anger" first. But with each album track I release as a single, I'll include 2 brand new tracks, created with the hard core groove loyalists in mind!
I'm very excited about the musical liberties that comes with being independent. How great it is to not have limitations put upon sounds and lyrics, just because of systematics. What a delightful freedom to make music from the heart, for the mind to find pleasure in.
In the midst of my euphoria about enjoying this artistic liberty, my thoughts are never far from the concerns of our troubled world.
May we keep a candle of hope lit for a peaceful solution.
