| Greetings True Spirit Website Visitors! I'm writing to you after an exhausting promotional period for the launch of my new album, "Alberta's GrandDaughter". I have been extremely encouraged by the positive support that I've received and I've gained so much strength from having this amazing amount of believe in my music. The Jazz Cafe shows went tremendously well! Sold out crowds gave warm and exhilarating responses to my new music, as well as appreciating the fresh twists that I gave to my old music. In a world where instant gratification and fast money is the popular trend, someone like me, whose musical manner simmers to a sizzle, rather than burns out in a quick fire, to have such dedicated listeners means more to me than you could ever imagine . I've repeatedly praised Mike Kressbach, the webmaster of this "True Spirit" website, for sustaning a marketplace for my music, and he has also recruited others in his quest to promote the sounds of my heart. Many, many times, I think of throwing in the towel, feeling that there's little use in me creating music that the majority of the world doesn't want to hear, but this is constant faith that I receive from others, truly keeps my hope afloat that the human spirit is stronger than superficial matters. We live in plastic times. The virtual realities that we encounter in cyberspace at least provides a link for us to reach out and touch each other, even if only through cyberspace methods. This medium allows me to deliver my thoughts to you, without ever having met you. That's spectacular! Further on that theme, I plan to release a single from my album next year, just before I start my UK tour in April 2003. The idea of connection with souls is the primary force that brings good reason to my efforts to maintain in an industry that eats its young and despises its elders. However, all is not lost. A growing number of young bloods are feasting on the wisdom that has paved the way for them. Only through this kind of revolution, the act of revolving through evolution, will our planet survive the evil destruction that threatens to ruin out precious earth. It is in this spirit of peace and understanding that will see us all through the muck and the mire of these difficult, dark days. Let us hold on to the belief and faith that good will outlast the bad, and the arts will continue to be our touchstone for the enhancement of the soulful beauty, in each and everyone of us. Meanwhile, I trust that the sun will keeping bringing the light to the guide our way up the hills of life. Keep well and be happy. CA |
