| Hey True Spirit Website Fans! Carleen Anderson here with greetings of warm sunshine and clear skies to each and every one of you! Although the rain poured down during my show at Rotterdam, there were some loyal and faithful fans there that cheered me on despite the storm blowing away at them!! The entire Rotterdam trip was an absolute adventure! Firstly, we arrived in Rotterdam, just after Turkey had won the game, and traffic stood still with people crowding the streets with flags, laughing and shouting with glee!! This went on for hours! As inconvenient as it was, as far as getting to one's aimed for location, which in our case was the hotel that was blocked off because of the traffic jam, still, I couldn't help but get caught up in the joy and jubilation that was being shared by so many people at one time! My son's uncle, Charles Sherrell, lives in Holland with his wife Martine and they came up to the hotel to visit as well as to see my show. Charles had been a long-time bass player and singer with James Brown after Bootsy Collins had left to join George Clinton. Charles' younger brother is my son's father. Charles has been living in Holland for 5 years now and we both and we both agree that handling the circumstances of being of African heritage is a lot easier to deal with on this side of the pond, rather than in the States. Besides, the appreciation for various genres of music in the UK and Europe, makes going independent as an artist, a very real option for musicians nowadays. Charles, his wife Martine, and myself had this conversation in my hotel room after the Rotterdam gig, speaking about how the internet can play such a crucial part in the career maintenance of the independent artist. Not only has cyber space provided a platform for music lovers to seek out their preferred tastes by name, online music shopping provides the independent artist a practical vehicle from which to promote one's musical works, anywhere in the whole wide world! There are other outlets that will be stocking my album as well, and I will list each of them as they are confirmed! I'm for sure going to be researching independent record distribution in Switzerland and the Netherlands, where they always show me so much love! Speaking of such loyality and devotion, y'all should know that Mike Kressbach, the designer of this here True Spirit website, travelled 24 hours in total, just to be at my Rotterdam gig!! It's dedication like Mike's, that inspires me to continue on with this showbiz! Thank Goddness for the love of music!!
