| Hey Y'all!:-o) I'm recovering today from a gig I did last night, Wednesday, 8th May, at Momo's, an authentic, very intimitate, Moroccan restaurant and bar near Piccadilly Circus in London. The bar, where my band and I played, is located underground, like a cellar, below the restaurant, and has a 90 persons room capacity. The owner is a friend of a friend, and made the showcase for my new album a fantastic success to a guest list only crowd!!:-o) The audience was wonderful!! They loved the unreleased tunes!! We had great fun playing my previously released tracks with this new jazz flavour!:-o) My Brother Soulful, Paul Weller was there, who said he was very proud of me and that my band was the best he'd ever heard me play with!!!:-o) I enjoyed my gig on Monday, 6th May, at Bristol as well!:-o) The congregation had a joyfully responsive spirit! My son, Bobby Anderson, was there with his band members, as they are all Bristol locals, and he was clearly proud 'is 'ole Mom an' all!:-o) His band, Fortune Drive, had played for the after party at Ponana's Club in Bristol, for the Essential Festival, the night before my scheduled performance for the festivities the next day. I was unable to attend, but Ben Castle, who plays saxophone in my band, told Bob that a DJ friend of his saw the show, and said the Fortune Drive gig was rockin'!!:-o) But of course, I have always been proud of my boy!:-o) He's my greatly loved and well appreciated lucky star!:-o) It's so gratifying to see him live his life so complete with his passion for making music. Although I'd hope that his expensive private school education would have led him toward a more traditionally 'safe' profession, but he has a solid musical direction, the most singulary significant ingredient in this biz. Plus, with his God-given musical talents, in addition to the magnificent musical gifts that come with the other musicians in the Fortune Drive band, I must say that I'm grateful that he aims to earn his keep by doin' something that he's so good at doin', and loves doing as well!:-o) A rare blessing!:-o) With all the preperations and cumbersome details involved to independently release a new album via the internet, I've had to cancel my plans for the limited exclusive offer to get autographed Alberta's GrandDaughter CD's, directly from me, to the True Spirit website visitors. Hopefully this is an idea that I'd be able to follow through on in the near future. Meanwhile, I'm having to prepare for my forthcoming gigs this summer. Confirmed so far is: 22nd June, Rotterdam, World Port Festival 4th August, London, Hackney Essential Festival !!!CANCELLED!!! 17th August, Amsterdam, Dutch Jazz Festival (with the Holland-based, Dox Orchestra) Until next time, rejoice whenever the sun lights up your day!:-o) Stay happy & healthy!:-o) Peace & Joy, Carleen |
