PARK BOARD
January 13, 2000

Linda Murphy, Carlton Doerner, Thelma Pettiford, Jeannine Baxter, Jim Kowzan,
and Dennis Lamczik

Minutes were read and approved.
Budget
Grants: Carlton Doerner agreed to conduct an internet
search for grant monies.
There was discussion of contacting local state congressman to inquire
about Illinois First Money for the Park and Pool.
City Council: Linda Murphy and Carlton Doerner will attend
the next City Council meeting to ask for $100,000 for repairs for the Pool.
They will also ask for an additional $15,000 per year added to the current
$21,000 the Park Board receives from the City.
Pool Business
Pool Manager: Expectations of the pool manager for the
next year were discussed. It was stressed that a much closer adherence
to the duties of that position be followed this year.
The job description for the Pool manager was updated to include the
performance of written evaluations on pool staff.
It was discussed that the Pool Manager position should be posted after
the next meeting (February) and the hiring held at the April meeting.
Park Business
Tennis Courts: Discussion was held to decide to get new
bids for resurfacing the tennis courts.
An accounting of all funds received for resurfacing the tennis courts
were handed out. As of November 17, 1999 the Board had received donations
totaling $1,280.
Miscellaneous
Web Site: Carlton Doerner reported that the Address for
the Park Board Website is http://welcome.to/duquoin and that the
Park Board email address is [email protected]
Carlton Doerner passed around a few printouts of what the web site looks
like to the board.
Park Board Books: The books are supposed to be ready for
handing out at the next park board meeting. Board President asked that
a timeline of scheduled events for the board be included.

Motion to adjourn was made by Carlton Doerner at 8:20pm and seconded
by Jim Kowzan. Motion carried.
The Park Board will meet next on Thursday, February 24th, 2000 at 7:00
p.m. at Du Quoin City Hall.
