Private Doctors provide the services

In most cases, private doctors offer all services.  Your own doctor may even take part in the program.  Sometimes,
women can receive services in the evenings or on weekends.

Local Health Department Staff  personally help you through the process

If you qualify, your local health department staff will take it from there.  They will tell you which doctors in your area
work with the program to offer breast exams, mammograms, and pap tests.  They will also help you set up your
doctors visits.  Then, they will follow up to be sure you can get to the doctors as planned -- and that you receive your
                                        mammogram and pap test results.

If you have problems, such as transportation to the doctor's office, let them know.  They may be able to help.

Breast Exams, Mammograms, and Pap Tests....once a year can mean many more years

Yearly breast exams by your healthcare provider, mammograms, and pap tests can help you live longer.  Today,
cancer treatments save many lives --- and the chances are best for women who find problems early, through
screening.  Ask your local health department if you qualify for their services, and make yearly tests a part of your
routine.  You may also want to tell friends or family about these services and how to find out if they are eligible.
