The End Is In Sight

DAY THREE

"I know it's dark outside ... get your butt out of bed and get moving!!!!"

At least that's what I thought my alarm clock said at 5:00 am that morning.

Breakfast was always good in the mornings.  Hot eggs, oatmeal, COFFEE (not that THAT did me any good - I'm a caffeine-free walker), cereal, juice, bagels, strawberry & cream cheese pastries, more eggs ... mmm mmm mmm.

Pipi Longstockings

I think what attracted me to Pipi in the first place was that big stick she was holding.  After having walked 40+ miles already that weekend, some good support was very much in the minds of the walkers.  Here, Pipi and I stop for a brief moment to have our picture taken and start negociations with regards to her stick.  But, to no avail.  She wasn't giving it up!!!

Lunch with Family

Doesn't Mom look simply adorable???

She and Nelson were waiting for me at the entrance to our lunch stop at the Dekalb Farmer's Market.  Video camera in hand and big smiles on their faces, they were there to welcome me and the other walkers and to cheer us on.

Yep ... you guessed it!!  Time to re-wrap all those little piggies and replace any moleskin not passing inspection.

Quite possibly the biggest tortilla in the world!!  And green ... it was a spinich tortilla.  Other vegetarian lunches had sun-dried tomato tortillas, equally as amazing in size.
