And GOD said, "Let there be light!"

And there was.  And it was good light ... SUNSHINE.  We endured Tropical Storm Helene for a day and we were rewarded with bright sunny skies the next.

M*A*S*H*
Pit Stop

Several of the walkers and crew take on different personalities while on the 3Day.

On the right, I  am standing at the M*A*S*H* unit  with none other than Clinger and "Hot Lips" Houlihan..

On the left, I am posing with a flower of sorts inside a TARGET where I darted off route to purchase some shades.  I wasn't the only TARGET shopper that morning.  We depleted their sunglasses supply!!

Our journey was not without beautiful landscape.  Behind me ... the beautiful and magnificient Stone Mountain.  We walked through the park and around the mountain.  Although ... some walkers would swear that we walked UP the mountain.

Saturday Night Festivities

Saturday night, Mom and Nelson came over to Kindness High to visit for a while.  We had the Nightly Walker News Report; honored, thanked and saluted the wonderful crew; and listened to a few motivational speakers regarding the progress of and what we're working towards with finding a cure for Breast Cancer.

We were supposed to have a Talent Show that night, but it was cancelled due to logistics.  I was saddened terribly, because I had been working on a song to sing about Mom, Breast Cancer, and the 3Day.  Johnathan, a member of the Avon 3Day Staff, made it possible for me to sing that night.  My mother was asked to come and sit beside me, as I requested ... and I sang my own rendition of
I Will Survive (click for the words).  Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Wired after the show and exhausted from walking, I bid farewell to my mother and Nelson.  Visiting hours were over, but my mother still had things she wanted to see, people she wanted to talk to, bathrooms she wanted to use.  Although she had been asked to leave by security several times ... she still somehow managed to stick around just a little longer.

Evening passed and morning came.  That was the second day.
