Diemeds official alliances and treaties
Endier: Full Alliance since 568 MR
Ghoere: Treaty since 568 MR. One of the points of the treaty is concerning mutual defense.
Avanil: Treaty since 573 MR. Treaty is about military support if either is attacked.
Ortodox Imperial Temple of Haelyn: Full alliance since days of the Empire
Haelynil / Impregnable Hearth of Haelyn: Full Alliance since 576 MR.
And as the Protector of the Laws of Haelyn, the Duke has a good relation to
the other churches dedicated to Haelyn too.
Laws of Diemed
1. The Duke of Diemed are, and shall always remain the supreme leader of Diemed.
2. The heir to Diemed and the properties of the Diem like is always picked by the Duke.
If none is picked by the Dukes death, it's the Landsraads duty to help find a
worthy successor.
3. The Landsraad is those the Duke wish to be in it. Often the Landsraad
will consist of major domain holders, and vassals to the Crown.
The Royal Chamberlain, the Minister of External Affairs and the
High-Marshal of the Army is always a part of the Landsraad.
4. The Duke will always be the head of the Landsraad.
The only exception would be if the Duke decided to step down as the leader
of the Landsraad. If so, it's the Landsraads duty to find a successor.
5. Those who holds domains owned by the realm, must be
a member of the Landsraad, exception may be granted if it's decided
by the Landsraad to do so.
6. Those who holds domains for the realm must pay tribute to the
realm as described in the Laws.
7. If one person holds two domains for the realm, he must pay the
gold tribute from them both, but only the highest of the two RP tributes.
8. The State Religion is and shall always be the one true church of Haelyn,
the Orthodox Imperial Church of Haelyn.
9. Every province of Diemed shall in the name of the Duke be ruled by a Count.
10. Only the Duke might have troops inside Diemed. Others might get this
permission, but then only after the expressed permission of his Lordship himself.
11. All trade routes going in or out of Diemed must pay a tax of 1 GB
to the lawful government of Diemed. This tax are used to safeguard
the roads and harbors of the realm against anyone trying to harm
and/or stop the trade in the kingdom.
12. True Nobility comes from actions, not from birth!
So if a nobleman acts without honor or in any other unnoblelike way,
he may loose his title. It's then up to the Duke to decide if the
title should go to someone in his family, or to someone the Duke wishes to reward.
13. In case if Treason, all titles and assets is forfeited to the Crown.
The convicted is banished from the realm for life.
14. In case of High-Treason, the penalty is death. Any bloodline is
forfeited to the Crown. ALL assets of the family of the convicted is also
forfeited to the Crown.
