The Landsraad of Diemed:
The Landsraad is basically a council where all those who have
important positions inside Diemed and the surrounding realms have a seat.
By Law all vassal, Barons and ministers of the Government
shall, if they want it, have a seat at this council.
The Landsraad where founded back in the days when the Empire
first started to crumble, when Michael Roele where abducted, and
Aerwyn Boeruine marshaled his troops to take the Throne.
Back then the Duke of Diemed envisioned the Landsraad to be
a place where the Barons and Dukes of the Empire could stand
together in the absence of a Emperor.
And for a few years, in a small scale, it succeeded, because many of the
Barons in the south and east did come to this Laandsrad to take
their place as an equal ruler to decide and guide the crumbling Empire.
Unfortunately this peaceful solution to the problems of the Empire failed,
as most of the Empire where thrown into a state of civil war.
Today the Landsraad is more a council to the Duke, then a place for the
nobles of the Empire to come together for the purpose of solving their
problems.
The current members of the Landsraad is as follows:
Heirl Diem, Duke of Diemed and currently the head of the council.
Lasica Diem, High-Marshal of the armies of Diemed.
Irullain Angelicas, Official Guilder of Diemed
Hubaere Armendin, High Prefect of IHH
Arron Vaumel, Lord-Governor of Mieres
the Royal Court Magistrate of Diemed
the Minister of External Affairs
Selophinie Failinie, Diemeds Court mage
Lavalan Briesen, Spiritual leader of the Orthodox Imperial Temple of Haelyn
The Landsraads High Chamber in the Dukes castle in Ciliene
All of the above have a vote in any case, and may bring up any case relevant
to the state or future of Diemed or the other realms that are members of the Landsraad.
If any vote come to a tie, then the Duke, as head of the council, can and
will use his extra vote to tip the scale.
