The best defense teacher they ever had...well according to Dean Thomas...and I have to agree. Remus was a werewolf and was "bitten at a young age." Which we now know that he was bitten by Fenrir Greyback who is one of the worst werewolves out there, running on the theory that you should "bite them when they're young." Remus served as Defese teacher while Sirius Black had just escaped from Azkaban. He had to lie by omision to the Headmaster about his friends little secret because that would show that he had taken advantage of the man while he was at school there. In the end he met up with Sirius and found out the truth about Peter. He went along with Harry and did not kill Peter which lead to him getting away...but also that night he had turned into a werewolf because he had forgotten to take his wolfsbane potion and had to retire out of fear that he may endanger someone in the future. He now looks after Harry in a sense... at least that's what I'm figuring after Sirius' death and all. So he's a good man. Who is now dating Tonks who so blantantly said that she loved him at the end of HBP.
