| In a galaxy far, far away.....No, more like in Connecticut. I grew up as a normal kid did, playing the role of god and killing bugs and riding my bike outside and stuff like that. Then, there came this one time I went to a friends house (who I actually didn't know when I went there at first) and he had something called a Sega Genisis. And then he played multiplayer with me on some games and I pretty much couldn't do anything and he said I sucked. So as the little brat I was I whined to my parents and they agreed that I should get a console so I could go own people in video games. And that Christmas I got a Super Nintendo with Super Mario World. I was able to experience enough of the world without videogames which allowed me to switch back and forth from playing with toys, going out to the park, and playing some videogames. That way I was never really hooked into them but at the same time I didn't get sick of them and not play videogames (what a sad life that would of been, some people have fallen down that path because they played too much for their little minds to comprehend). So basically I was introduced to the Nintendo side of the Force. I really had no skill whatsoever but I learned of all the games and how to play them from this cool dude that baby-sat me and Matt when we were little (cuz we got the console when I was like in the younger years of elementry school) and thats where we learned how to play Street Fighter and the Zelda games (Also, we watched him play the classics from the original Nintendo which was just as amazing and some RPG's). We ended up getting some more games for the SNES and I really like the platformers. Also, my friend Jeremy was loaded with videogames for Nintendo and we would spend hours in his basement playing those (or causing mischief around the neighborhood). Then came the handheld games. I never was able to get the original GameBoy, or the Gameboy Pocket, but once Pokemon came out into the US I got myself a Gameboy Color (w00t). And that began my Reign of Terror as the Pokemon Master of Elementary School (Only because I'm half demon, I mean Asian). So that's how I got in touch with handheld gaming. Random Intermission: <('.'<) ^('.'^) (^'.')^ (>'.')> Computer games........now for those I was introduced to around the beginning of middle school but not the PC games you would think of nowadays. No, I played games on a borrowed laptop that my Dad got for a while. Thats where I played Nibbler (you're a worm and you eat numbers) and Gorilla (there's two gorrilas on buildings and you throw explosive bananas at each other using angles and velocity calculations.......pretty advanced physics). Then I played some games from those huge floppies such as Duke Nukem. We never got a PC until the second half of 7th grade. By then it seemed like everyone had one. From there My brothers and I followed the path of mainly Blizzard games, such as Diablo I & II and Starcraft (The first time I saw Starcraft I was confused as to what the person was playing but then I realized it was awesome in every RTS way possible). But it took us a while to progress to such a state and it was mainly because my parents didn't want us playing videogames anymore (Actually, the Government nerfed our skills by stopping us from getting the games right away in order to limit our possibility of owning everyone else when they got it). During middle school was the rise of the N64. That was just an awesome console that took everyone for an awesome experience. It was the Christmas of 7th grade when I got my very own (Still had to shared with the two other Prime evils...argh) and with it we got Super Smash Brothers. That game was just awesome, after I played it Jeremy a few times (The first time I ever played that game was at Jeremy's and I chose Jigglypuff because I wanted to start out with a difficult character to use). Then I met the ALPs gang and found out that Scott and Eric owned the game (and pwned it). So pretty much after playing with them and getting good at it with Kirby or messing around with Jigglypuff I was convinced I needed to get it for myself. Then the great divide came where I left my friends in Connecticut for Florida. When we first moved here we had to stay in a condo and look for a house. Guess what me and my brothers did that whole time? We just played Super Smash Brothers (of course we were also overwhelmed by the beach and the outside world of the Sunshine state, but after too much sun and shine you had to retreat to the depths of gaming). Random Kirby Stuff: t('_'t) @('_'@) I also got a Sega Genisis when we got a High-top Van with a Tv in it. There we were able to catch up on the old school Sega games, especially Sonic. Then I get the G-Unit (GameCube) and what do ya know? Super Smash Brothers Melee! Even though I was all the way down here I was still able to get a chance to play Melee with Eric and Scott because they were so cool and came down here and I went up there also, and we played. Then more recently I get an X-box for some other games like Halo. Overall Smash was the most addictive and coolest for the console games. Computer wise I upgraded myself and learned how to deal with them pretty good. I got myself a Laptop of wifi ownage and we have a better PC rigged up. That way we can play our favorites like Starcraft, Warcraft III: The Frozen, and a lot of others that I don't want to keep listing. I didn't feel like putting up all the games I've played because that would just be a foolish waste of 1MB, but hopefully you have some sort of idea of the games I've grown up around and experienced. |
